DARK 4 Weekend - Friday, February 1 through Sunday, February 3

LIFE Detroit, the Leather Institute for Education, Detroit will be holding the Detroit Area’s Rough & Kinkfest (DARK) Weekend 4 on Friday, February 1 through Sunday February 3, 2008, at Al Matta Hall, 5121 Oakman Blvd., Dearborn, MI.

The weekend’s events will kick off on Friday, February 1, with a Meet & Greet beginning at 7 p.m. The Meet & Greet will allow you register for the weekend’s events and share in the brotherhood that is our Community. Also on Friday night, a bar event will be held at the R&R Saloon, beginning at 11 p.m.

The DARK 4 Weekend continues on Saturday, February 2 with a vendor’s market and educational speakers from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. National, regional and local presenters will speak on a variety of leather/kink/fetish/BDSM topics. Presenters include Jay Wiseman, author of such books as “SM 101: A Realistic Introduction,” “Tricks...To Please A Woman,” and “Tricks...To Please A Man.”; International Bootblack 2007 Spot; Lady Justice, Mistress Pandora, and Mario.

Saturday evening will feature various Leather/Kink/BDSM/Fetish Participation and Demon-stration Evening at Diamond Jim’s Saloon, 19650 West Warren (at Evergreen), Detroit, Michigan 48228, beginning at 10:30 p.m. Demonstrations will be held during the night, from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m., during the Mr. Leather Cowboy 2008 Contest.

The DARK 4 Weekend concludes on Sunday, February 3 with a Closing Brunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. A roundtable discussion on “Legal Issues: What You Need to Know” will begin at 12:30 p.m. This discussion will feature Jay Wiseman and several members of the community.
