CIVIL WARS: Do Manners Matter Anymore?, D.A.R.K.3 2007
Respect. Protocol. Diplomacy. Tact. Civility. Manners
All are words of great importance and of deep significance to Leatherfolk, in fact they are at the heart of the most key of our Community’s values: Integrity.
However, we are living in an ever increasingly fast-paced world in which a marked decrease in Civility has been noted. It seems we are rushing so much, we don’t believe we have time for niceties.
This workshop will take the form of an interactive and lively discussion. The ultimate goal being to gain:
- A better understanding of how and why these values mattered, how they were put into practice, as well as the importance accorded to them, where tradition is concerned;
- A sense of their evolution leading to the manner in which we put these values into practice today; and
- An opportunity to bring forward elements from our collective past to determine if anything could be brought forward to adapt the role of these values for more modern times and challenges.
